Hamsterley is a small village within County Durham, England. Hamsterley village is a short distance from Bishop Auckland & Hamsterley Forest on a low ridge between Teesdale & Weardale. The village has a strong and active community promoting the Hamsterely Millenium Garden, Hamsterley Cinema, Hamsterley annual Hoppings and Hamsterley Social Club. Hamsterley Forest is what draws the most attention to the village, it covers an area of up to 2000 hectares and is a hub for outdoor activities including walking trails, cycling, mountain biking and orienteering.
