Launched only last year and designed by Ted Little and initially funded by Northumberland National Park Authority, Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Project, Northumberland County Council and Tyne Valley Mountain Bike Club, the Sandstone Way Cycle Route is a 120 mile cycle route from Berwick to Hexham.

This brand new route links Hexham and Berwick via the beautiful market towns of Bellingham, Rothubury and Wooler. This mountain bike route is named after the many Sandstone like features which can be spotted throughout the ever-changing landscape journey. Perfect for any ability, the Sandstone Way route is well marked where possible over flowing rivers and steep hill climbs.

The Sandstone Way covers just about the whole length of Northumberland, one of England's best kept secrets. A historic ride through scenic Northumberland is one not to be missed!
